We found these fun re-interpretations of Picasso’s paintings by the Spanish fashion photographer Eugenio Recuenco. The Madrid based Recuenco has re-imagined Picasso’s muses (from friends to his lovers and children); styling and posing the models in similar manner that Picasso painted them. Set in mysterious looking spaces, the models’ elegant silhouettes, outlandish costumes and make up all help the photographer to achieve the dreamlike quality echoing the original paintings. Of course this result is also enhanced by the post-production process and color manipulation techniques. Recuenco’s photographs was published in the Spanish weekly magazine SMODA, and on his website you can find an extensive dossier of other stylized art and fashion projects. Here are the rest of the images from his Picasso project, mostly in chronological order so one can see Picasso’s artistic development.
